The EU projects WALTER and EUWB will organize a measurement event in order to evaluate the initial draft proposal certification procedures for the upcoming ETSI DAA UWB harmonized standard. During this event manufacturers of DAA enabled UWB devices are invited to provide devices which could at least cover some parts of the proposed procedures. Here devices only supporting the detect part would also be welcome if the needed information are available to the measurement equipment for evaluation of the detection and identification time.
For each of the registered DAA capable devices a one day measurement session is planned using the available equipment and if needed the measurement chamber of the European commissions JRC (Joint research Center) in ISPRA. The initial tests will be carried out using a conducted test setup with the possibility to evaluate subsets of the parameters and procedures using a radiated setup.
During the test the full DAA certification procedure proposed by ETSI in an initial draft version (TR 102 763 V1.1.1) or only parts of the procedures will be covered. The individual DAA device test results will be confidential.
Main parameter to be evaluated:
- Detection thresholds
- Detection times
- Pattern identification
- Detection probabilities
- Avoidance capabilities (band switching, sub band notching, band group switching, LDC operation, etc.)
- Test time of the proposed procedures
The conclusions of the evaluation test will be used to update and change the procedure in order to guarantee a smooth usability of the proposed test during the final certification processes using the ETSI DAA standard.
In association with the evaluation event a one-day workshop is planned on Monday (06.07.2009) to give a detailed insight into the European DAA procedure. During this workshop the project plans to collect the feedback from all potential DAA users and manufacturers independent of the availability of DAA devices.
Registration DAA event: Until 15. June 2009
